Behringer DC9 Music Pedal User Manual

Thank you for showing your condence in us by purchasing the BEHRINGER DYNAMICS COMPRESSOR DC9.
This ultimate eects pedal is specically designed to give a stable dynamics and an endless sustain to your
guitar by evening out the signal without degrading the original sound. You can also use the DC9 to boost
the overall volume of your instrument for solo parts.
A compressor limits the dynamic range of a signal by attenuating signal peaks exceeding a certain threshold level.
The amount of gain reduction is determined by the compression ratio. The result of compression is an attenuation
of the dierence between loudest and softest playing which achieves a more powerful and punchy tone.
1. Controls
(1) The SENSITIVITY control determines the compression ratio. The higher you set the
SENSITIVITY value, the more the compression intensies. In other words, as you increase
the SENSITIVITY, you reduce the level dierence between softest and loudest playing.
(2) The OUTPUT control adjusts the output level. Use it to compensate the gain reduction resulting
from the compression or to boost the output level of your instrument.
(3) The LED illuminates when the eect is activated. It also serves as a battery level indicator.
(4) Depress the footswitch to activate/deactivate the eect.
(5) Use this ¼" TS IN connector to plug in the instrument cable.
(6) The ¼" TS OUT connector sends the signal to your amp.
Use the DC IN connection to plug in a 9 V power supply (not included).
To install or replace the 9 V battery, remove the bottom side of the unit taking the four screws o.
The DC9 has no on/o switch. As soon as you connect the jack to the in connector, the DC9
is switched on. When the DC9 is not being used, remove the jack from the in to extend
the battery life.
The SERIAL NUMBER is located on the bottom side of the device.
