Checking stereo master tracks
After creating a stereo master track, you can listen to
it by following these procedures.
1. When the recorder is stopped, press the
BOUNCE/MIXDOWN/MASTERING button to
open the
RECORDER MODE
screen.
2. Use the DATA wheel to select (highlight) the
MASTERING
item.
3. Press the F4 [EXEC] button to open the
MASTERING
mode selection screen.
NOTE
If there is no stereo master track, a
No Master
Trk
pop-up message will appear and the recorder
mode will not change to
MASTERING
.
4. Press the F4 [MANUAL] button.
After a
Mastering!
pop-up message appears,
the recorder switches to mastering mode and the
MASTERING
screen opens.
5. In this mode, press the Play (7) button to play
the stereo master track.
The stereo master track signal is output from the
LINE OUT jack, so it can also be dubbed to an
external stereo recorder.
6. After you have created a stereo master track
that you are satisfied with, press the BOUNCE/
MIXDOWN/MASTERING button to open the
RECORDER MODE
screen, and use the DATA
wheel to return the recorder to
MULTI TRACK
mode.
If you are not satisfied with the stereo master
track, you can create a new one. A new stereo
master track will overwrite the previous one.
NOTE
To listen to the recorded stereo master track of
a saved song, load that song, set the recorder
mode to
MASTERING
and then press the Play (7)
button to start playback.
TIP
When this recorder is in
MULTI TRACK
mode,
you can transfer a stereo master mix created on
this unit as a file that can be played back on a
computer. (See “Exporting stereo master tracks”
on page 81.)
When this recorder is in MULTI TRACK mode,
you can copy a stereo master track to a pair of
adjacent tracks (1-2, 3-4, 5-6 or 7-8) by cloning the
track. (See “CLONE TRACK (track duplication)” on
page 60.)

MASTERING
modes.

AUTO MASTERING mode
In this mode, after you set the character of the effect
(
MAXIMUM
or
NATURAL
), the unit automatically
masters the stereo master track.
8
MANUAL MASTERING mode
In this mode, you can adjust the mastering equal-
ization, compression and normalization individually
when mastering stereo master tracks.
