Using MIDI Clock to control Arpeggio tempo
With the initial default setting (Sync = Auto on page 36), the Arpeggio is played back according to the
tempo determined by the internal or external clock as described below.
When MIDI clock is received from an external MIDI device:
The Arpeggio will play back according to the tempo of the received MIDI clock.
When MIDI clock is not received:
The Arpeggio will play back according to the internal tempo set on the KX.
When using Cubase, you can transmit MIDI clock from the computer to the KX by following the
procedure below.
1.
Select “Sync Setup” from the “Transport”
menu on Cubase to call up the
Synchronization Setup dialog.
2.
Enter checkmarks to the “Yamaha KX-1”
(when using Windows) and “MIDI Clock
Follows Project Position” of the “MIDI
Clock Destination” at the lower right of
the dialog.
When using Mac OS, enter a checkmark to
“YAMAHA KX YAMAHA KX Port 1.”
3.
Click [OK] to close the “Synchronization
Setup” dialog.

NOTE
The KX provides three USB MIDI Ports
each of which has a different, specific
use. For details, see page 18.
NOTE
· MIDI clock is transmitted from Cubase
(on the computer) only when recording
or playback is performed on Cubase.
· For information about DAW software
other than Cubase and how to transmit
clock data from the MIDI device, refer
to the owner’s manual of the DAW
software/MIDI device.
· You can select the setting which lets
you always use the internal MIDI clock
of the KX to play the Arpeggio even if
an external clock are received from the
external MIDI device. For details, refer
to “Utility Settings” on page 36.
