Auto punch in/out...

I need help!! The other day I was recording and pressed the wrong button and put guitar where the bass part was; I successfully erased the mistake. But when I went to do the auto punch in, the machine will not go into "record take" mode. I can be reached @ gawolf@gmail.com THANK YOU!!!!
