why wont the cd drawer stayed closed on my machine...

why wont the cd drawer stayed closed on my machine and what channel do you put the tv on to get the words to come up,,,i have no manuel for my machine,,,it was given to my 7 yr old granddaughter who loves to karaoke and we cannot get it to work :(
