2 To record on the MD 1700 press song and the blue light will indicate it is in song mode. The screen will say TUNE 1. when you press record it will be ready for recording. If you press a key on the keyboard it will auto record. If you press start before pressing keys it will record before you start playing. After recording your first track ( which there are only 6 tracks you can record on and those are 11-16) and are ready to record a new one , press record again but this time select an empty track, remember: 11 - 16, and it will flash , signaling that it is ready for recording. When you begin playing it will record on that track while playing back your previously recorded track. MAKE SURE IT IS FLASHING ON YOUR NEW SELECTED TRACK or you will record over the same track and delete your first recording.
