Formatting the User Memory
When you’ve  nished connecting USB memory to the USER
MEMORY connector, you’ll need to format the USB memory
so that it can be used as “user memory.”

Access the main screen.
If you’re not at the main screen, press the [EXIT]
button a number of times until the main screen
appears.

Touch <Menu>.
The Menu screen appears.

There are three menu screens.
Touch to switch screens.

Touch <Format User Memory>.
A con rmation message appears.

Touch <OK>.
Formatting will begin.
The entire contents of user memory will be formatted.
Never turn o the power while the screen shows the
message “Now formatting ....”
NOTE
If the screen indicates “Error,” refer to the “Error
Messages” (Owner’s Manual p. 209).

Turning the Power On

Turn the [VOLUME] knob all the way to the left to
minimize the volume.

The power will turn on, several images will appear in
the RK-300’s screen, and then the main screen
(Owner’s Manual p. 24) will appear.

Use the [VOLUME] knob to adjust the volume.

The screen will disappear, and the power will turn o .
Connecting User Memory
If you connect the included USB memory to the USER
MEMORY connector on the RK-300’s rear panel, you’ll be able
to use the USB memory as “User memory.”
User memory is required for basic operations such as the
following:
Saving a recorded performance
Saving songs, images, and sound settings

Press the upper part of the USER MEMORY connector
cover, and open it.

Connect the included USB memory to the USER
MEMORY connector.

Press the upper part of the USER MEMORY connector
cover to close it.
Now you’re ready to start enjoying the RK-300.
We recommend that you copy the songs on the included CD to the “Favorites” in internal memory (Owner’s
Manual; p. 36).
Go ahead and select a song you like from the song list, then press the [PLAY/STOP] button to listen to it.
