SYSTEM DATA LOGGING
NOTE
: An account must be established with Garmin Flight Data Services to make full use of the System Data
Logging feature.
ThesystemprovidesrecordingofCASandCMCmessagesthatoccurwhiletheaircraftisonthegroundorin
ight,includingenginetrendandexceedancedataandightphasetransitionlogs.Theloggeddatawillinclude
themessagetimeandthemessagestate(active,inactiveorinhibited).
Additionally,thesystemiscapableofloggingdatapacketsfromtheHighSpeedDataBus.
Therecordeddata isthen assembledinto reportsthat canbe transmittedto GarminFlight DataServices
using any of three data transmission methods (Wi-Fi,IridiumRUDICS,andIridiumShortBurstData).The
systemselectstheappropriatetransmissionmethodbasedonparameterssetbytheaircraftmanufacturerand
communicationnetworkavailability.Datatransmissionmaybeinitiatedmanuallywhentheairplaneisonthe
ground.
Ifreport transmissionis interruptedfor somereason (e.g.networks unavailable,hardwarefailure,loss of
power),thesystemwillattempttoresumesendingthereportsatthenextopportunity.Thesystemensuresthe
completedatasetistransmitted.
Transmittedreportsremaininthesystem’smemoryuntiltheyareoverwrittenbynewerdata.
ControlandmonitoringofreporttransmissionsisaccomplishedthroughtheAUX-REPORTSTATUSPageas
seeninFigure8-104.
To view the Report Status Page:
1) Turn the large FMS Knob on the MFD to select the AUX page group.
2) Turn the small FMS Knob to select AUXILIARY COMMUNICATIONS.
3) If necessary, select the REPORT Softkey to display the AUX-REPORT STATUS Page.
