PROPANE (L.R) GAS CONTROL VALVE AND BURNER
ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT INFORMATION.
For Propane(I.R) Gas ModelsOnly:,
Your water heater is equippedwi_ Propane (I-R) gascon-
troi valveand a main burner assemblywith left:hand threads
forthe followingfittingsand their connections.
The connecdon between the manifold and the gas
cont_ v_ (A _o B) are left hand threads_
The connection between the main burner orifice
and che manifold (C to D) are left hand threads.
For ordering these replacement parts, please refer to
the "Repair Parts" section ofthi_ manual.
Temperature-Pressure Relief
Valve Operation
Tb_e tcmperatu_-pressu_ rdief vatve must be man_ally operated
at least once a year.

Failureto install and maintaina new properly listed tempera-
ture-pressure rdief valvewill releasethe manufacturerfrom any
claimwhich might resultfrom excessivetemperature or pressure.
Draining
The water heater should be drainedif being shut down during
freezing temperatures. Alsoperiodic draining and cleaning of
sediment from the tank maybe necessary.
Turn the gascontrol knob to the _OI_F"position.
CLOSE the cold water inletvalveto the water heater.
OPEN a nearbyhot water faucet and leaveopen to allow for
draining.
Connect a hose to the drain valve and terminate to an ade-
quate drain.
OPEN the water heater drain valve to allow for tank
draining.
NOTE: If the water heater is going to be shut down and
drainedfor an extended period, the dra_ valveshould be
left open with hose connected allowing waterto terminate
to an adequatedrain.
Closethe ctrainvalve.
Follow instructions in the "Filling The Water Heater"
section.
Followthe lighting instructionsin the "Lighting" section to
restartthe waterheater.

If after manually operating the valve, it _ls to completely

cold water inlet to the water heater, follow the draining
instructions, and replace the temperature-pressure relief
