FOR THE LS
i SERIES CENTER
CHANNEL LOUDSPEAKER
The LSi Series Center Channel Loudspeaker incorporates the most effective
magnetic shielding available so it can be placed safely on or near your TV or video
monitor. If you notice video distortion or discoloration, immediately move the
speaker away from the TV and call Polk Audio Customer Service Monday – Friday,
9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Time, (800) 377-7655 (USA and Canada) or email
polkcs@polkaudio.com. The most popular placement for a center channel speaker
is on top of your TV, anchoring the dialogue and effects to the screen
[figure 1].
An alternate placement is on a shelf below your TV
[figure 1]. If you are using a
front projection TV system, place the center channel speaker on a small stand or
table immediately below the bottom of the projection screen, or at ear level behind
the screen if your screen is acoustically transparent. Consult the owner’s manual
for your screen. Adhesive rubber feet are included with your LS
i C Center Channel
Loudspeaker and may be attached to the bottom of the speaker to protect your
furniture and keep the speaker in place.

The “bass management” or “speaker configuration” menus of most surround

eceivers of

mal” or “wide” modes for center channel
operation. In discrete channel digital processors these modes are referred to as
“small” and “large.” Normal (small) mode filters bass frequencies from the center
channel speaker and sends them instead to the fr
ont left & right main speakers
or to the subwoofer output (LFE) jack. Wide (large) mode sends an unfiltered,
full range signal to the center channel speaker. Use the Small (normal) mode
for optimum center (and sur

ound) channel per
formance and reliability.

The LSi Series Surround FX Loudspeakers were designed to provide the ultimate
diffuse sound field experience in your home theater system. One LS

the “left” channel speaker, and the other is the “right” channel speaker. The serial
number label identifies which speaker is which

speaker should be placed on the left side of the room
as you face the front of the

L’enceinte de canal central de la Série LSi est dotée du blindage magnétique
le plus efficace sur le marché ; elle peut donc être installée sur ou proche d’un
téléviseur ou d’un moniteur vidéo en toute sécurité. Cependant, si vous voyez
de la distorsion vidéo ou une décoloration dans l’écran, éloignez immédiatement
l’enceinte du téléviseur et contactez le service à la clientèle de Polk Audio,

Le placement le plus populaire d’une enceinte de canal central est sur le
téléviseur, ce qui ancre le dialogue et les effets à l’écran
[fig. 1]. On peut
également la placer sur une étagère sous le téléviseur
[fig. 1]. Si vous utilisez
un téléviseur à projection avant, placez l’enceinte centrale sur une petite table
ou sur un socle directement sous l’écran, ou derrière l’écran à la hauteur des
oreilles si ce dernier est acoustiquement transparent. Consultez le manuel de
l’utilisateur de votre écran. Des pieds de caoutchouc autocollants sont fournis
avec votre enceinte LS
iC et peuvent être fixés à la base de l’enceinte pour la
garder solidement en place tout en protégeant vos meubles.

L’ENCEINTE DE CANAL CENTRAL DE LA SÉRIE LSi
Les menus « bass management » (gestion des graves) ou « speaker configuration »
(configuration des enceintes) de la plupart des récepteurs offrent un choix de
modes « normal » ou « wide » (large) pour le canal central. Les processeurs
numériques à canaux distincts identifient ces modes « small » (petit) ou « lar
ge. »
Le mode normal « small » filtre les basses fréquences du canal central et les
achemine vers les enceintes principales avant gauche et droite ou à la sortie
subwoofer (LFE). Le mode « wide » (lar
