Introduction
Introduction to Electro-Static Spraying
The spraying medium is atomized using a pneumatic or
diaphragm pump and a booster air feed supply. A high DC
voltage (up to 80 kV), applied across the grounded component
and the electrode tted to the gun body generates an electric eld
and applies a negative charge to the paint particles. These repel
each other as they move from gun to workpiece and so distribute
evenly through the ne spray cloud and then uniformly deposit
on the positively grounded surface. Particles shooting past the
component remain trapped in the electric eld and deposit on the
backside of the work object. Effective material yield up to 90%,
time savings up to 80%, markedly improved quality of nish, less
cleaning and a healthier environment are the principal properties
of the process.
Features:
Minimum overspray
Coating by electrostatic wrap-around action
Good atomization of charged particles
Advantages:
Effective material utilization up to 90%
Enormous time and labor savings
