Features and Controls
The Audio-Technica PRO88W wireless microphone system is compact, lightweight
and compatible with nearly all video camcorders. The PRO88W operates in an
authorized VHF band and has a useful range of up to 300 feet in line-of-sight
applications.
Each PRO88W system operates on two crystal-controlled, switch-selectable
frequencies for clear, clean transmission. There are 4 pairs of frequencies available:
Freq. Code “A” Channel “B” Channel
T13 T1: 169.445 MHz T3: 170.245 MHz
T24 T2: 169.505 MHz T4: 170.305 MHz
T57 T5: 171.045 MHz T7: 171.845 MHz
T68 T6: 171.105 MHz T8: 171.905 MHz
TVHF Ch. 7: 179.400 MHz Ch. 8: 180.600 MHz
The Frequency Code appears on the back of each unit. Both transmitter and receiver
must have the same Frequency Code, and both units must be set to either “A”
or “B.” TVHF frequencies are in television channel bands 7 and 8. Use whichever
channel does not have an operating TV station in your area.
Note that two transmitters on the same frequency will not work with one receiver.
The PRO88W is offered with a choice of cardioid or omnidirectional clip-on
microphones. Each type offers distinct benefits: cardioid microphones reduce room
noise and allow a greater working distance than omnidirectional microphones;
omnidirectional microphones are less susceptible to wind and clothing noise and
provide extended frequency response.
Cardioid PRO88W System
PRO 88W-829 includes AT829mW miniature cardioid clip-on microphone.
Omnidirectional PRO88W Systems
PRO88W-830 includes MT830mW subminiature omnidirectional clip-on microphone.
PRO88W-R35 includes ATR3350mW miniature omnidirectional clip-on microphone.
Before use, make certain you understand the function and operation of the system.
Please note that wireless frequencies are shared with other radio services. According
to Federal Communications Commission regulations, “Wireless microphone
operations are unprotected from interference from other licensed operations in
the band. If any interference is received by any Government or non-Government
operation, the wireless microphone must cease operation...”
If you need assistance with operation or frequency selection, please contact an
Audio-Technica dealer.
