Table 4-1. Fradswitch-8A controls, indicators, and connectors (continued)
Item Control, Indicator, or Connector Function
4 SYNC Indicator Indicators, one for each main link, indicate
Fradswitch synchronization status.
Condition
Indication
Off Fradswitch not powered.
On Fradswitch powered and
synchronized with the corres-
ponding X.25 DTE or DCE
peer.
Flashing Fradswitch powered, but
(continuous) not synchronized with the
corresponding X.25 DTE
or DCE peer.
5 ERR Indicator Lights when a hardware malfunction was
detected during the self-test automatically
performed upon power-up, or after pressing
the RESET pushbutton.
6 OVF Indicator Lights when the Fradswitch’s buffers are full. In
a properly designed system, this condition usually
indicates that one of the DTE units connected to
the Fradswitch does not respond to the flow-
control commands sent by the Fradswitch, a
condition that could be caused by incorrect
configuration of the Fradswitch.
7 TEST Indicator Lights to indicate that the Fradswitch is in the
diagnostics mode (one of the test loops active)
or that one of its channels is connected to the
Fradswitch command facility. In either case,
traffic is interrupted.
8 RESET pushbutton Resets Fradswitch internal circuits (including
the data buffers) and initiates the power-up
self-test.
9 Channel Connectors Connection to Fradswitch channels
(one connector per channel).
