CHAPTER 5: Quick Start

9. The STM Async Channels are numbered according to the link number:
For link number 1, in Stat-8, they are numbered 101—108.
For link number 1, in Stat-24, they are numbered 101—124.
For link number 2, in Stat-8, they are numbered 201—208.
For link number 2, in Stat-24, they are numbered 201—224.
For link number 12 in Stat-8, they are numbered 1201—1208.
For link number 12 in Stat-24, they are numbered 1201—1224.
NOTE
The sub-channel addresses are “00” by default, and must be configured to another number
before use.
NOTE
Stat-4 channels do not work at present with X.28 parameters that is, the profiles defined in
the Fradswitch do not change the parameters already defined in the Stat-4.
5.4 Weight-Oriented Routing Function
Whenever a call command is issued, the interface from which the call is to be connected is selected using
a static routing table. The algorithm is very simple—the routing table is searched until an address match is
noted, and then the first synchronized link is selected.
New Implementation Builds a list of all links which have satisfied the following conditions:
• The link is synchronized (exception is a dialed link).
• There is at least one LCN available.
The selection between the links is set according to pre-defined priorities determined by the user.
The link priority is actually the load factor.
For example, if links 1, 2, and 3 get respectively the priorities 2, 5, and 6, then for every 13 calls
2 will be routed to the link 1, 5 to link 2 and 6 to link 3.
