5.1.2.2 To place the earhook and reference microphone
1. Place the wedge-style earhook on the client’s ear. Alternately, place an earhook (without a
wedge) on the client’s ear, and place the Velcro headband around the client’s head.
2. Attach the reference microphone, facing for

ward, on the wedge of the earhook, directly
above the ear to be tested. The reference micro
-
phone should be as close to the head as pos
-
sible. See Figure 5.1.2.2.
3. Adjust the round Velcro pad on the wedge style
earhook by turning it, so that the inside pad fits
firmly against the client’s neck.
