• Use the [DATA÷ENTER] knob or the [UP]/[DOWN] but-
tons to select the User memory that should contain
your customized tuning system.

(–64~63, Default setting: 0 for all notes) These
parameters allow you to stray away from the usual
semitone-interval scale (used in western music) by
changing the pitch of the notes so as to accommo-
date other musical cultures.
You will notice that every note can be selected only
once. That is because the value you specify applies to
all notes of the same name. If you change the tuning
of the “C”, that value will be added to or subtracted
from all Cs (C1, C2, C3, etc.). Most of the time, you
will probably select the value “50” or “–50” as they
correspond exactly to half a semitone up or down
(quarter tone). Other settings may also be interesting,
though.
• Press the [DATA÷ENTER] knob to select either the note
(left field) or the tuning value (right field) and change
the entry using the [DATA÷ENTER] knob or the [UP]/
[DOWN] buttons.
• Press the [MENU÷WRITE] button to memorize your
new tuning (or [EXIT÷JUMP] to return to the previous
settings, in which case your changes are lost). If you
press [MENU÷WRITE], the display briefly shows a con-
firmation:

allows you to specify which
section should be affected by the tuning system you
select on the “1.3 Scale” page. It is perfectly possible
to select a single section (e.g. only the Treble accor-
dion).
