- Powersupply cordsshould beroutedso that theyarenot likelyto be walkedonor
pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience
receptacles,andthepointwheretheyexitfromtheproduct.
-The product isequipped withan attachment plughaving overloadprotection.
This is a safety feature. See Instruction Manual for replacement or resetting of protective device. If
replacement ofthe plugis required,be sure theservice technicianhas useda replacementplug specified by
themanufacturerthathasthesameoverloadprotectionastheoriginalplug.
- For added protection for this product during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and
unusedforlongperiodsoftime,unplugitfromthewalloutletanddisconnecttheantennaorcablesystem.This
willpreventdamagetotheproductduetolightningandpower-linesurges.
-Anoutsideantennasystemshouldnotbelocatedinthevicinityofoverheadpowerlinesorother
electric lightor power circuits,or where itcan fallinto such powerlines orcircuits. When installingan outside
antenna system,extreme care shouldbe taken tokeep from touchingsuch power linesor circuits ascontact
withthemmightbefatal.
- Donot overloadwall outlets,extension cords,or integralconvenience receptacles asthiscan
resultinariskoffireorelectricshock.
- Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings as they may
touchdangerousvoltagepointsorshort-outpartsthatcouldresultinafireorelectricshock.Neverspillliquidof
anykindontheproduct.
-Do notattempttoservice thisproductyourselfas openingorremovingcovers mayexposeyouto
dangerousvoltageorotherhazards.Referallservicingtoqualifiedservicepersonnel.
- Unplugthis productfromthe walloutlet andrefer servicingto qualified service
personnelunderthefollowingconditions:
a) Whenthepower-supplycordorplugisdamaged,
b) Ifliquidhasbeenspilled,orobjectshavefallenintotheproduct,
c) Iftheproducthasbeenexposedtorainorwater,
d) If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Adjust only those
controlsthat arecoveredbythe operatinginstructionsasan improperadjustmentofother controlsmay
resultin damageandwilloften requireextensiveworkby aqualifiedtechnicianto restoretheproductto
itsnormaloperation.
e) Iftheproducthasbeendroppedordamagedinanyway,and
f) Whentheproductexhibitsadistinctchangeinperformance-thisindicatesaneedforservice.
- When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used
replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part.
Unauthorizedsubstitutionsmayresultinfire,electricshock,orotherhazards.
-Uponcompletionofanyserviceorrepairstothisproduct,asktheservicetechniciantoperform
safetycheckstodeterminethattheproductisinproperoperatingcondition.
-The productshould bemounted toa wallor ceiling onlyasrecommended by the
manufacturer.
- The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or
otherproducts(includingamplifiers)thatproduceheat.
15. OutdoorAntennaGrounding-Ifanoutsideantennais connected
tothereceiver,besuretheantennasystemisgroundedsoasto
providesomeprotectionagainstvoltagesurgesandbuilt-upstatic
charges.Article810oftheNationalElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPA70,
providesinformationwithregardtopropergroundingofthemast
andsupportingstructure,groundingofthelead-inwiretoan
antenna-dischargeunit,sizeofgroundingconductors,locationof
antenna-dischargeunit,connectiontogroundingelectrodes,and
requirementsforthegroundingElectrode.Seefigure:
