Boot Loader Installation
• GRUB is selected as the default linux bootloader. If this is acceptable, press Next
to continue.
• HP recommends that you select Configure advanced boot loader options if you
have IDE and SCSI drives in the system, or if you have a Promise FastTrak
present in the system. You may need to do this and then select Change Drive
Order to ensure that the drive you will be booting from is at the top. If you
proceed further without making this change, your system might not boot
properly.
Kernel Parameters
After selecting Configure advanced boot loader options, (and if you have a
Promise FastTrak present in the system) enter:
ide0=0x1f0,0x3f6,14 ide1=0x170,0x376,15 ide2=0 ide3=0 ide4=0
ide5=0 ide6=0 ide7=0 ide8=0 ide9=0
NOTE: Depending upon which storage deice you will be booting from, will determine if you
should install the bootloader record on the (MBR) Master Boot Record. Please refer to the
Redhat Manuals for further information regarding installing the bootloader.
GRUB Password
• HP recommends a password to protect access to GRUB. Click Next to continue.
Network Configuration
NOTE: The network settings need to be customized to your environment. Please refer to Red
Hat manuals should you need further details on the networking settings.
Firewall Configuration
• Review the Firewall setting and modify if necessary.
