2. Set the EFX ON/OFF switch to the “OFF” position to dis-
able the internal DSP.
3. Raise the EFX 1 controls for the channels to which you
want the external effect to be applied, and set them to
about half way, or to the “5” position.
4. Next you need to set the main EFX send level using the
SEND control knob located in the middle of the EFX chan-
nel strip. To start, you can set the level to about half way
up, or to the “5” position.
5. Set the input level of the external effect so that the
sound is not distorted and so that the effect’s input meter
does not indicate a clipped signal.
6. Now, raise the stereo input level faders on the channel
that you have the effects outputs connected to until you
hear enough effect return.
INSERT POINTS AS AN EFFECTS LOOP
You can use the TXM16 and TXM20’s MAIN Left and Right
Insert points as effects loops for connecting an external
signal processor. This will allow you to apply an effect on
the entire main stereo mix. You may want to use an exter-
nal dynamics processor like a compressor. The following
section details the hook up:
1. Using standard 1/4-inch insert Y cable, connect the
MAIN Insert to the Left input and output of a stereo com-
pressor like a Samson C com 16 or S com plus.
2. Using another standard 1/4-inch insert Y cable, connect
the MAIN Insert to the Right input and output of a stereo
compressor like a Samson C com 16 or S com plus.
3. Now, follow the directions in your compressor users
manual to set the correct gain structure and to adjust the
parameters for compressing your signal.

SENDING AN INDEPENDENT MIX TO THE
MONITOR SPEAKERS - continued.
5. Use the graphic equalizer and AUX 1 Send fader level
control in combination to adjust the overall volume and
tone.
6. For a second monitor mix, repeat the steps above for
using the AUX 2 monitor bus.
USING AN EXTERNAL EFFECT
If you prefer to use an external device for effects process-
ing, you can easily connect the unit using the TXM16 and
TXM20 EFX bus. Follow the simple steps below to inter-
face your processor:
1. Connect your processor by using a standard shielded
cable from the TXM mixer’s EFX OUT jack to the input
of the external effect. Now, you can use any of the TXM
mixer’s stereo line input channels to connect the output
of the effects, using the same type of cables.
