ZSelect FINGERED ...................................................................................................................................
XSelect a Style ..........................................................................................................................................
The FINGERED mode is ideal if you already know how to play chords on a keyboard, since it allows you to supply
your own chords for the Auto Accompaniment feature.
Select an accompaniment style using the style selectors (see “Style Selection”
on page 17).
Press the [FINGERED] button to select the FINGERED mode (the FIN-
GERED indicator will light).

CSet the Tempo.........................................................................................................................................
Use the TEMPO [] and [] buttons to set the desired accompaniment tempo
if necessary (see “Tempo Control” on page 17 for more details).
VPlay ..........................................................................................................................................................
As soon as you play any chord (up to 4 notes) on the lower keyboard (up to the
split point — normally the F#2 key), the PDP-400 will automatically begin to play
the chord along with the selected rhythm and an appropriate bass line (synchro start
is automatically selected in the ABC mode*).
* Automatic synchro start switching can be enabled or disabled via the utility 1 mode Auto
Synchro Start Switching function, described on page 43.
NOTES
The automatic accompaniment will sometimes not
change when related chords are played in sequence
(e.g. some minor chords followed by the minor
seventh).
The PDP-400 will accept the following chord 20 types:
