3ENTERING LETTERS, NUMBERS, AND SYMBOLS
This table gives general instructions for entering letters, numbers, and symbols in Contacts and Messages.
For more detailed information on using text entry modes, see page 14.
To... Do this...
Enter a letter In Multitap
mode, press the appropriate alphanumeric key until the letter you want
appears on the display.
Enter a number In Numbers
mode, press the number key once.
Enter a symbol In Symbols mode, enter the number corresponding to the symbol you want.
Enter a space Press .
Erase a character Press .
Erase all characters Press and hold .
Move cursor right or left Press
right and left.
Change modes Select the current input mode and press . Select an input mode.
Capitalize the next letter In Multitap mode, press each time you want to capitalize. In EZText mode,
after entering text. press until the capitalization you want appears.
Capitalize every letter In Multitap mode, press until the input mode displays MULTITAP. In EZText
mode, after entering text, press until the capitalization you want appears.
Capitalize the first letter of
each word
In Multitap mode, press until the input mode displays Multitap. In EZText
mode, after entering text, press until the capitalization you want appears.
