BASIC CONCEPTS
Chapter 1
• This example is of selecting pages within Song (mode) Play
Effect (sub-mode).
• In this display, 1 – 3 are assigned to pages,
4 is assigned to a sub-page, and 6 is assigned to
a special page. The sub-pages and special pages will differ
depending on the page.
• The page will change when you press the function key that
corresponds to the desired page.
1 Move to the Groove page.
2 Move to the Clock Shift / Gate Time / Veloc-
ity page.
3 Move to the Transpose page.
4 Move to the Groove View sub-page.
6 Switch the displayed tracks to tracks 17 – 32.
Selecting parameters
• To select parameters, move the cursor in the page.
• The parameter name and setting value of the selected pa-
rameter will be shown in the top line of the display.
3. Menu selections
• In the Song Job and Pattern Job screens, a menu of the avail-
able jobs will appear.
• This example is of selecting a job from the Song Job list.
• Jobs can be selected in the following four ways.
u/d → e
• Use the cursor keys to move the cursor up or down to select
the desired job, and press e.
Data dial → e
• Rotate the data dial to move the cursor to the desired job,
and press e.
• Rotating the data dial clockwise will move the cursor in the
order of 00 → 01 → 02 etc. Rotating it counterclockwise
will move in the opposite order.
n/y → e
• Use n/y to move the cursor to the desired job, and press
e .
• Pressing y will move the cursor in the order of 00 → 01
→ 02 etc. Pressing n will move in the opposite order.
Numeric keypad → e
• Use the numeric keypad to directly enter the number of the
desired job, and press e.
• When you use the numeric keypad to enter a number, the
number will be shown in the upper right of the display.
• This method is convenient when you already know the de-
sired job number.
• For example in order to enter the “01 Quantize” page, press
numeric key [1] and then e.
• Pressing e will return to the Job menu, and pressing
e once again will return to the previous mode.
