Hints on Creating a User Tone
Use a preset tone that is similar to
the one you are trying to create.
When you already have a general
idea of the tone you are trying to
create, it is a good idea to start with
a similar preset tone. If you want to
use a layered tone, start out with a
2DCO tone.
Determine the most important
parameter. The PCM Set and Amp
Envelope Set parameters are the
major factors that determine the
overall tone characteristic. Start out
by setting these two parameters to
get the general sound you want, and
then set the other parameters to add
the finishing touches.
Experiment with different settings.
There are no real rules about what a
tone should sound like. Let your
imagination run free and experiment
with different combinations. You
might be surprised at what you can
achieve!
Deleting a User Tone
To delete an existing user tone, follow
Steps 1–5 of “Creating and Storing a
User Tone” on Page 25. When
SAVE ?
appears in Step 5, press twice. The
display changes to
Delete? Press
TONE
to delete. The parameters of the
default tone for that number are re-
stored.
