7.2 Replacing Consumables
7.2.1 Replacing the Toner Cartridge
Replace the toner cartridge according to the procedure below.
CAUTION! Do not incinerate the toner cartridge. Sparks may be generated,
causing burns.
Take care not to spill toner. If toner gets into your eyes, immediately flush your eyes
using clean water for 15 minutes or more, and then seek the attention of a doctor.
Note on replacing the toner cartridge: Handle the toner cartridge
with its label facing upward. Do not stand or reverse the toner cartridge.
The printer will first advise to
check the toner X. This is a warn-
ing to order more toner as the
printer will soon run out The
printer will carry on printing and
then advise replace tonerX. At
this stage it is necessary to replace
the requested toner cartridge X: k
is black, c is cyan, m is magenta
and y is yellow.
1. Unlock the lever on the front
cover and open the front
cover.
2. Remove the used toner car-
tridge, paying attention not to
spill the toner. Do not handle
mo than one toner cartridge
at the same time.
3. Gently rock a new toner car-
tridge three or four times in
the direction of arrows to
level out the toner inside the
cartridge.
