Realtime-recording the Bass
and Piano as MIDI
Now that we’ve recorded the bass and piano, let’s record the other parts. The process is the same as when
you recorded the rhythm; the only difference is that we’ll use the keyboard instead of the pads. Select a part
in the Studio Play screen, select a track in the Song Play screen, and then record.
1. Press [STUDIO].
2. Use the cursor buttons to select (highlight) part 2.
3. A bass sound will be heard when you play the keyboard.
While listening to the drums you recorded earlier, you’ll play the keyboard to record the bass part.
1. Select the “MIDI 2” track as described in “Selecting a recording track” (p. 32 of this
manual).
2. Play the keyboard to record the bass part as described in “Recording” (p. 33 of this
manual).
When you press [REC], the Recording Standby screen appears. Press [PLAY] to begin recording. Play the
keyboard to record the bass.
1. Press [STUDIO].
2. Use the cursor buttons to select (highlight) part 1.
3. A piano sound will be heard when you play the keyboard.
While listening to the drums and bass you recorded earlier, you’ll play the keyboard to record the piano
part.
1. Select the “MIDI 3” track as described in “Selecting a recording track” (p. 32 of this
manual).
2. Play the keyboard to record the piano part as described in “Recording” (p. 33 of this
manual).
When you press [REC], the Recording Standby screen appears. Press [PLAY] to begin recording. Play the
keyboard to record the piano.
You can freely arrange recorded phrases in the track.
