English Chapter 5: Display (LCD) and DRIVE Indicator
Various information is shown in the display (LCD: Liquid Crystal Display) and DRIVE indicator on the
Control Unit. This chapter describes some of the frequently displayed indications.
DRIVE Indicator
The DRIVE indicator lets you know which disk is
selected.
Pressing the [SELECT] buttons toggles the
indication as follows:
“Fd” and “Cd” appear only when a floppy disk or
CD is inserted in their respective drives.
Display (LCD)
The display is used in conjunction with most of
the Disklavier’s functions. Here are a few things
that you will often see on the display.
Song Number
The number of the selected song is displayed in
two large digits.
Disk Title
When you select a floppy disk or Memory Disk
for playback, the title of the selected disk scrolls
across the display.
Note: CDs have no disk title.
Song Title
The title of a song appears during song playback.
Time Display
When the Disklavier is not playing, the current
time is displayed in hours and minutes. The
separator colon blinks each second.
Counter Display
Playing time is indicated in one of two formats:
Minutes and seconds, as shown below.
Or, Measures and beats, as shown below.
When the time display format is measures and
beats, the tempo of the song is also shown on the
display in beats per minute (bpm).
