MIDI Sequencer (Performer) Setup
To record WR-DA7 operation in the MIDI sequencer (Performer), start [Patch THRU] on the Basic
menu and set [Select Patch THRU Mode] to [OFF] so that the MIDI sequencer does not echo MIDI
messages.
To record the operations of both the WR-DA7 master and slave on the MIDI sequencer
(Performer), select [Multi Record] on the mini-menu of the track screen of the MIDI sequencer.
Then set the two track into record mode on the track screen, and set each [Input] to [WR-DA7
(Master)] and [WR-DA7 (Slave)].
With Performer, a MIDI message to each MIDI Timepiece A/V input port
could be recorded on separate tracks. To simultaneously record and
playback the MIDI messages of both the master WR-DA7 and slave WR-
DA7 with a MIDI sequencer having only one track, it is necessary to
select different MIDI channels within the MTP for the master and slave
WR-DA7s to be outputted to the MIDI sequencer. For this purpose,
start [MTP/Express Console] of the MIDI Timepiece A/V and set the
Channel Map screen as follows:
After it is set, record the master and slave WR-DA7s with the MIDI
sequencer.
WR-DA7 (Master):
(From) Map Channel 1 to 2
(To) Map Channel 2 to 1
WR-DA7 (Slave):
(From) Map Channel 1 to 3
(To) Map Channel 3 to 1
ADAT, BRC Setup
With the BRC serving as the wordclock master, select the [Fixed Mode] to set a sampling rate of 48
kHz, or select [Variable Mode] to set a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz. Then press the [Pitch Down]
switch to set -147 cent ([44.1] shown on the screen).
In the MTC setup, set MIDI to [MTC] on the Gen Sync setup menu, and press the [Gen Sync]
switch on.
To output timecode from the BRC during ADAT FF/REW, set item 8 [Output Rew/FF SMPTE &
MTC] on the BRC MIDI/UTIL setup menu to [ON].
To operate the MMC, the MMC MIDI channels of the WR-DA7s and BRC must be the same. On the
BRC, set items 11 [MIDI Device] on the MIDI/UTIL setup menu to "the MIDI channels set by the
WR-DA7s minus 1" or [ALL].
