Recording Your Keyboard Play
419A-E-024A
You can record your practice sessions while playing along with a
Song Memory tune (Song Recording), or you can record your
keyboard play along with the Auto Accompaniment you are using
(Free Recording).
Recordable Data, Parts, and
Tracks
The type of data that is recorded into Song Memory depends on
whether you are performing song recording or free recording.
Song Recording: Right-hand part or left-hand part
Free Recording: One tune, consisting of two tracks as shown in
the illustration below
Since each track is independent of the other, you can edit a
recording by re-recording only one of the tracks.
Using the SONG MEMORY Button
Each press of the SONG MEMORY button cycles through the song

Song Memory Capacity
Song Memory can hold a total of approximately 5,300 notes, which
can be divided between a song recording and a free recording. Note
that you can use all 5,300 notes for a single recording, if you want.
If you do, you will not be able to store a second recording.
Recording will stop automatically if Song Memory becomes full.
If you are using Auto Accompaniment or a rhythm, they will
also stop playing at this time.
Recorded Data Storage
Starting a new recording deletes any data that was previously
recorded in memory.
Should power fail during recording, all of the data in the track
you are recording will be deleted.
A built-in lithium battery supplies the power required to retain
digital piano memory contents when power is turned off. Should
the lithium battery go dead, memory contents will be lost
whenever you turn off digital piano power. For more
information, see Memory Protection on page A-7.
