Now,Drumsample2willsoundwhenyouplaysoftly,

locitiesof79orless–andDrumsample1willsound
whenyouplayharder
,withvelocitiesof80ormore.
ThemeterattheleftsideoftheVelocitySplitgraphic
indicatesthenoteonvelocityvalue.Thisletsyou
verifythedrumsamplethatwillbesoundedbyagiven
velocity.
11. Next,setDrumsample1’sCrossfadeto20,andits
CurvetoLinear.
Noticethatthegraphicnowshowsthetworanges
taperingintooneanother
.Between80and100,
Drumsample2willfadeout,andDrumsample1will
fadein,creatingagradualvelocitytransitioninsteadof
ahardsplit.
Fine-tuning the sound of each sample
1. Ifyoulike,adjusttheLevelsforthetwo
Drumsamples.
Thiscanbeveryusefulincreatingasmoothvelocity
splitorcrossfade.
2. Asnecessary,specifythetuning,EGparameters,
andfilter.
