PART 2: STRATESTUFF URETHANE ADHESIVE

Product Description

StrateStuff Moisture Cure Urethane Adhesive is a one-part adhesive formulated for all glue-down installations of BR-111

™

hardwood flooring products. This adhesive can be used over on a wide variety of substrates; including concrete, plywood,

OSB, cork, vinyl tile, sheet vinyl, sanded terrazzo, and ceramic. When it is cured, it maintains the necessary elasticity to

accommodate for the normal expansion and contraction of wood.

Features & Benefits

1. StrateStuff Moisture Cure Urethane Adhesive, when properly used with StrateStuff Substrate Safeguard,

will activate a sub-floor moisture warranty (see StrateStuff Sub-floor Moisture Protection Limited Warranty

for details.)

Important Information

Sub-floor moisture emissions damage the wood causing it to cup, delaminate, and separate from the sub-floor. Moisture

emissions might also promote the growth of mold, mildew, odors and other bacteria underneath floor coverings that could

present health concerns and jeopardize product performance, especially on concrete sub-floors. This adhesive used alone

will not prevent moisture-related damage to wood flooring installations.

For enhanced sub-floor protection and additional warranties, it is

highly recommended that StrateStuff Substrate Safeguard

be applied to the sub-floor prior to installing the wood.

Substrate Safeguard is a new technology of polymeric blends with Microban

Anti-Microbial protection. Substrate Safeguard is

easy to apply, and dries in a minimum of 12 hours to form a permanent “surface layer” of protection from sub-floor moisture

emissions. The Microban

ingredient remains as part of the dried layer to provide ongoing resistance to the growth of mold

and mildew at the sub-floor level. (See Substrate Safeguard label and literature for more information and warranties).

StrateStuff Moisture Cured Urethane Adhesive and Substrate Safeguard are formulated to be used together over these porous

substrates — concrete, plywood, OSB and sanded terrazzo.

Trowel Requirements

The proper notch trowel is very important in achieving satisfactory results.

For all glue-down BR-111

™

wood flooring products use a 1/4" x 1/8" x 1/4" square notch trowel.

The spread rate is approximately 45–50 square feet per gallon of adhesive.

The use of any improper trowel will void all warranties associated with this adhesive.

■

The use of any type v-notch trowel will void all warranties associated with this adhesive.

CAUTION

: THIS ADHESIVE IS VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE FROM THE URETHANE FINISHES IF ALLOWED TO

DRY AND MAY DAMAGE FINISH ON FLOORING. Be sure to remove residual adhesive with mineral spirits from

the surface as you go.
