Appearance
Ipe features a distinctive range of dark red, brown, and
nearly black hues that mix to form an exotic and rich
dark brown color. Graining varies substantially, and
when coupled with its natural dark coloration, Ipe is
perfect for formal living room and library applications.

Ipe's color is mostly unaffected by exposure to light.

Finishes
Prefinished — Product features a specially formulated
UV cured aluminum oxide finish that allows the wood’s
natural beauty to shine through and may be sanded
and refinished.
Unfinished —Ipe's unusual chemical makeup contains
alkalines that can react adversely to oil based finishing
products, resulting in extensive drying times. As a
result, use only water based finishes, and thoroughly
test all finishing products on sample strips before
applying to site floor. The alkalines present in Ipe can
also react with some finishes causing the wood to turn
to a red color. Refer to special instructions from BR-111
™
when finishing this species.
Usage
Ipe's superior hardness is perfect for commercial or
residential applications, including high traffic areas.
Installation
Equalize flooring on-site and monitor for moisture
content before installing. Nail down Indusparquet
®
3/4" Solid over 3/4" plywood or similar sub-flooring.
Indusparquet

7/16" Solid may be stapled or glued
down* over approved sub-flooring or concrete.
Professional installation is recommended.
