Various lines in the Video Status window have icons at the end. These icons control the
monitoring and logging state of all displayed parameters. Since the method to change
the status of each parameter is the same, only one is described in detail.
For each parameter, the name is displayed on the left. In the centre is the error display
area. The background will be green if there are no errors and red if there are errors.
However, this is affected by what error display has been chosen, as explained below.
This is the error counter display control. As shown here, the errors for this parameter will
be counted, and displayed as the number of errors since the last reset. If there have
been 0 errors, then the background will be green, otherwise it will be red.
By clicking on this icon, the display advances to the next state. In this state, the display
shows the time since the last error occurred, or the time since last reset, whichever is
applicable. If it is the time since the last reset, and no errors have occurred, then the
background will be coloured green. If it is showing the time since the last error, then the
background is red, indicating that there have been some errors.
By clicking again, the display advances to the next state. In this state, the display shows
the number of errors per time interval. If there have been no errors, the background will
be green. If there have been errors, the background will be red, and there will be a
display of errors per second, or errors per minute etc, as appropriate.
By clicking once more, the display changes to a mode where errors are blanked. The
display just becomes grey.
By clicking again, the display advances to the last state. In this mode, the display shows
'OK' on a green background. Each time an error occurs, the display changes to display
'ERROR' against a red background. After half a second, the display reverts to the green
OK message. Whilst in this mode, the error counter remains active.
Every click on this icon advances the error counter mode through these choices in
sequence.
This icon resets the error and elapsed time counters back to zero.
This icon in this group lets you control the audible alarm mode. As shown here, the
audible alarm is disable. By clicking on this icon, the red cross is removed, which enables
the audible alarm. Each time an error condition occurs, the system will sound a beep, or
play a 'wav' file, if a wav file has been associated with this error condition. To associate a
wav file with a given error condition, use the ‘Options’ menu from the video status
window, and select ‘Configure alarms’.
This is the error logging control. As shown here, the parameter will be logged, marked in
the XML file as an 'Error'. If the exclamation mark is lighter, then the parameter would still
be logged, but marked as a 'Warning'. If there is a cross over the exclamation mark, then
this parameter would not be logged at all. Each time you click on this icon, the state
cycles through this three state sequence.
This icon indicates whether this parameter has been selected to be monitored as a Time-
shift trigger. See page 23 for details on time-shift triggered recordings. Note that Time-
shift is part of the ‘Advanced Option package’, and this icon will not be present without
this option.
