9 – Other Settings and Information Display
Reformatting SD cards
You can reformat an SD card that is in the unit.
CAUTION
If you format a card, all information, including takes
and folders, on it is erased.
When formatting, use the AC adaptor or confirm
that the remaining battery charge is sufficient. If the
batteries run out of power during this operation, the
formatting might not be completed correctly.
1. Press the MENU button to open the
CARD
page of the
MENU
screen.
2. Use the DATA wheel to select the
FORMAT
item, and
press the ENTER/MARK button to open the following
screen.
3. Press the ENTER/MARK button again to open the
following screen.
4. Use the DATA wheel to select one of the following
settings.
Options:
QUICK FORMAT
(default),
ERASE FORMAT
NOTE
Using the
ERASE FORMAT
option might restore an SD
card that has decreased writing performance due to
repetitive use.
5. Press the ENTER/MARK button to open a confirmation
screen.
6. Press the ENTER/MARK button again to start
formatting.
NOTE
When
ERASE FORMAT
is being executed, you can
press the MARK (.) button on the top of the unit
to cancel. Doing this will have the same result as using
QUICK FORMAT
.
7. When formatting completes, the
CARD
screen reopens.
Viewing SD card information
On the
CARD
page, information about the status of the
currently inserted SD card is shown.
1. Press the MENU button to open the
CARD
page of the
MENU
screen.
2. Use the DATA wheel to select the
INFORMATION
item,
and press the ENTER/MARK button.
A pop-up showing the use status of the SD card will
appear.
TOTAL
Shows the total memory capacity of the SD card.
REMAIN
Shows the remaining capacity of the SD card.
FILE/FLDR
Shows the total number of files and folders inside
the MUSIC folder.
