Step 9. Installation / Operational Verification
1. Turn on the VXI mainframe and use the VXIplug&play Soft Front Panels (SFP) to verify installation and
operation of the M-Modules. The SFPs are supplied on the CD ROM accompanying your M-Modules
and Carrier. The SFP is an MS Windows
®
application that allows you to program an instrument or
M-Module over GP-IB or from an embedded controller. For systems with a GPIB-VXI Command
Module, such as the E1406, connect a GPIB cable between the computer’s I/O interface and the
Command Module. If the instrument is not available, you can still run the SFP with ‘live mode’ disabled.
Start the SFP by selecting the LOGO and instrument name in the VXIpnp program group. Online help is
available with the SFP.
