Program Change
MIDI program change messages are used to switch to different programs
(different sounds or patches) on a remote MIDI device. Program changes
make it possible for you to use the piano to switch among different setups
on a remote MIDI device, or to use a remote MIDI device to select different
sounds on the piano.
Sending a Program Change
When you change the sound on the piano, the piano also sends a program
change message with the corresponding program number to the remote
MIDI device, causing the program at that device to change accordingly.
1. Each sound on the piano corresponds to a different program
number (0 to 23), as indicated in the table below.
Receiving a Program Change
When the remote MIDI devices sends the piano a program change message
with a program number of 0 to 23, the piano switches to the corresponding
sound, as indicated in the table below. If the received program number is 24
or higher, the piano leaves the current sound unchanged.
