On Mac OS X
If connecting the piano to a computer running Mac OS X, use the operating
system’s default MIDI driver.
The Mac OS X version must be 10.2 or higher.
1. Connect the NC-500 to the computer with a USB cable.
2. Turn on the power to the NC-500.
3. Open the Applications folder and then the Utilities folder, and double-
click Audio MIDI Setup.
4. Click the MIDI Devices tab, and confirm that the NC-500 appears.
Port Configuration on Mac OS X’s Default MIDI Driver
Port 1 at the driver (the computer) corresponds to the NC-500’s
KEYBOARD and SOUND (tone generator), while Port 2 corresponds to the
NC-500’s MIDI IN and MIDI OUT. For infomation, see “Driver Ports for the
NC-500 USB MIDI Interface" on page 39.

Input Settings for Applications
If you are using NC-500 to control a DAW application and you want the
application to receive MIDI messages from the NC-500 keyboard and
controllers, set the application’s input port to Port 1.
