Before You Start Playing
Turning the Power On and Off
* Once the connections have been completed, turn on power to
your various devices in the order specified. By turning on
devices in the wrong order, you risk causing malfunction and/or
damage to speakers and other devices.
Tuning On the Power
1. Make sure of the following before the power is
turned on.
•Is the AC adaptor correctly connected to the DC inlet?
•Is the power cord correctly connected to the AC outlet?
•Is the [Master Volume] knob (located at the left of the
keyboard) set to the Min (minimum) position?
2. Press the [Power On] switch to turn on the
power.
The power will turn on, and the Basic Screen appears on
the display.

* This unit is equipped with a protection circuit. A brief interval
(a few seconds) after power up is required before the unit will
operate normally.
3. Turn the [Master Volume] knob or depress the
expression pedal to adjust the volume to a
suitable level.
Turning the [Master Volume] knob towards “Max”
increases the volume; turning the knob towards “Min”
decreases the volume. Likewise, pressing down on the
expression pedal increases the volume, while easing up
on the pedal decreases the volume.

Turning Off the Power
1. Before switching the power off, set the [Master
Volume] knob to the Min (minimum) position.
2. Press the [Power On] switch to turn off the
power.

Using Headphones
The AT-5 features a Phones jack. This allows you to play
without having to worry about bothering others around you,
even at night.

1. Connect the headphones to the Phones jack on
the bottom left of the unit.
The sound from the built-in speakers stops.
Now, sound is heard only through the headphones.
2. Adjust the headphones volume with the [Master
Volume] knob and Expression pedal.
* Accepts connection of Stereo headphones.
Some Notes on Using Headphones
To prevent damage to the cord, handle the headphones
only by the headset or the plug.
Headphones may be damaged if the volume is too high
when they are plugged in. Lower the volume on the AT-5
before plugging in headphones.
To prevent possible auditory damage, loss of hearing, or
damage to the headphones, the headphones should not be
used at an excessively high volume. Use the headphones
at a moderate volume level.
