Assembling and disassembling the
battery
Mounting the batteries
! Folding up seat.
! Insert battery and screw it down
with the provided screw.
Note:
When using batteries with a liquid
electrolyte coat the battery terminals
adequately with terminal grease to
protect them from corrosion!
! Screw-on the positive pole cable.
! Screw-on the negative pole cable.
! Tilt the seat back.
Taking-out the batteries
When disassembling the battery, the
negative pole cable is unscrewed
before the positive pole cable.
Checking and topping-up the
battery acid level
Always heed safety precautions for
handling batteries!
! Unscrew cellular seals.
! Draw a samble from each cell with
the battery hydrometer.
! Return each acid sample to the
same cell.
♦ At 20 °C, the acid of a fully-charged
battery has a specific weight of
1,28 kg/l.
♦ The acid of a partially-charged
battery has a specific weight
between 1,00 and 1,28 kg/l.
♦ The specific gravity of the
electrolyte must be the same in all
cells.
♦ Specific weight under 1,15 kg/l.
! If the battery acid level is too low,
top-up the cells with distilled water
until the top edge of the plates is
just covered with liquid.
! Charge the battery until a specific
weight of 1,28 kg/l is reached.
Charging the battery
♦ Always heed safety precautions for
handling batteries!
♦ Warranty is valid only when using
the batteries and charging units
stipulated by Kärcher.
♦ Charge the battery with smallest
possible current.
♦ It is essential to observe the
instructions provided by the
manufacturerer of the charging unit.
! Connect the negative pole lead of
the battery charger to the negative
pole connection of the battery.
! Connect the positive pole lead of
the battery charger to the positive
pole connection of the battery.
! Switch on battery charger and
insert mains plug.
Note:
Use the KÄRCHER fully automatic
charging set 6.654-116.
Fill with fuel
♦ Let the engine cool-down.
! Open the tank cover.
♦ Fill up with "Diesel fuel".
! Close tank cap.
♦ Wipe off overflowed fuel and
dispose of oil and fuel
contaminated cloths ecologically.
Checking fuel lines and hose
clamps
♦ Let the engine cool-down.
! Open unit cover.
! Check whether the hose clamps
are loose, retighten, if necessary.
! Check fuel lines and hose clamps
for damage.
Note:
• If a fuel line or a hose clamp is
damaged the concerned part must
be immediately repaired or
replaced.
• The fuel system must be vented
after a fuel line or a hose clamp has
been replaced.
! Close unit cover.
