Before You Play
Once the connections have been completed, turn on power to
your various devices in the order specified. By turning on
devices in the wrong order, you risk causing malfunction and/
or damage to speakers and other devices.
This unit is equipped with a protection circuit. A brief interval
(a few seconds) after power up is required before the unit will
operate normally.
Turning the Power On
1.
Turn the [Volume] knob all the way toward the left to
minimize the volume.
2.
Press the [Power] switch.
The power will turn on, and the [Piano] button and [Reverb] button
will light.
After a brief interval, you’ll be able to produce sounds by playing the
keyboard.
3.
Use the [Volume] knob to adjust the volume.
Turning the Power Off
1.
Turn the [Volume] knob all the way toward the left to
minimize the volume.
2.
Press the [Power] switch.
The screen goes blank and the power is turned off.

Here’s how to adjust the volume of your keyboard playing or the
playback volume of an internal song.
If headphones are connected, use the [VOLUME] knob to adjust the
headphone volume.
1.
Turn the [VOLUME] knob to adjust the overall volume.
Adjust the volume while you play the keyboard to produce sound.
Turning the knob toward the right will increase the volume, and
turning it toward the left will decrease the volume.

Hold down the [Song] button and press the [Metronome]
button.
The display will indicate “Fnc” and you’ll be in Function mode.

Hold down the [E. Piano] button and use the [–] [+]
buttons to make the display indicate “brL.”

The current setting will appear when you release the [E. Piano]
button.
3.
Use the [–] [+] buttons to adjust the brightness of the
sound.
4.
Press the [Song] or [Metronome] button to leave
Function mode.
You can use the Memory Backup function to store this setting
in internal memory (p. 44).

Explanation
-10–0–10
Adjusts the RP201‘s tonal character.
Positive (+) settings brighten the tone, and
negative (-) settings make it more mellow.
