Disk management
4 Press ENTER.
It is most important
that the power to
the DP-01 is not turned off when
the disk is being formatted. If this
happens, the unit may become
unusable.
A message reminds you that all songs will be lost.
5 Press ENTER again to format the disk with the new partition sizes (or
EXIT to escape without formatting).
Formatting a partition (Reform)
You cannot undo
this operation—all
data on the selected partition will be
lost. ONLY CARRY OUT THIS
OPERATION IF YOU ARE SURE
THIS IS WHAT YOU REALLY
WANT TO DO.
If you want to keep partition sizes the same, or you only wish to
clean out one partition of the hard disk, this is the way to do it.
1 Press MENU and select the DISK menu.
2 Select the REFORM action and press the key
An arrow () shows the active partition. The sizes of the partitions
are shown (not the available space).
3 Select the partition to be re-formatted (shown by the cursor) and
press
ENTER.
A popup message reminds you that all data on the partition will be
lost.
4 Press ENTER to reformat the partition.
Formatting the FAT partition
You cannot undo
this operation—all
data on the FAT partition will be
lost. ONLY CARRY OUT THIS
OPERATION IF YOU ARE SURE
THIS IS WHAT YOU REALLY
WANT TO DO.
The FAT partition is used for transfer between the DP-01 and a per-
sonal computer. Its size is fixed by the DP-01, and cannot be
changed.
1 Press MENU and select the DISK menu.
2 Select the FAT REFORM action and press the key
3 Press ENTER.
A popup message reminds you that all data on the FAT partition will
be lost.
4 Press ENTER to reformat the FAT partition.
Automatic song creation
After formatting a disk or a partition, a new song is always created
on any blank partition, in the same way that one is created if the only
song on a partition is erased. You always have a song available to
work with.
