accident. For clear visibility and safe
driving it is extremely important for
you to follow the instructions on the
use of the ventilation/heating and
defogging/defrosting system. If in
doubt, consult your dealer. Maxi-
mum heating output and fast
defrosting can be obtained only after
the engine has reached operating
temperature.
WARNING! Excessive heat
may cause the pressurized
components of the air condi-
tioning system to explode.
Never weld, solder, steam
clean, or use a blow torch
near any part of the air con-
ditioning system.
If a refrigerant leak develops in
the presence of excessive heat
or an open flame, hazardous
gases may be generated. These
gases may cause unconscious-
ness or death. If you become
aware of a refrigerant leak on
your vehicle, have your system
serviced immediately and
observe the following precau-
tions:
Stay away from the hot
engine until the exhaust
manifold has cooled.
Do not permit any open
flame in the area. Even a
match or a cigarette lighter
may generate a hazardous
quantity of poisonous gas.
Do not smoke in the area.
Inhaling gaseous refrigerant
through a cigarette may
cause violent illness.
The heating and air conditioner controls
are located on the instrument panel.
The heater and air conditioner controls
consist of a rotary switch for regulating
the blower speed, a slide control for
selecting air distribution, a slide control
for selecting air temperature, and with
optional air conditioning, a push button
switch for turning the air conditioning on
or off.
22. Ventilation Fan Indicator Light
When illuminated, indicates the blower
switch is on (Positions 1-3).
Rotary switch (1) Controls the blower
