I connected the unit with a USB cable to a
computer, but the computer does not recognize
it.
You must turn the USB function ON in order to make it possible for
a computer to recognize the 2488neo connected by USB. Press
the MENU key, select “DISK” and press the YES/ENTER key. Then,
select “USB OPEN/CLOSE” and press the YES/ENTER key to turn
the USB function ON (see “Opening the USB connection” on page
81 for details).

I changed the volume with the faders while
recording, but the volume is still the same when
I play it back.
The faders do not adjust recording levels; they adjust monitoring
levels for the recording sources. Even if you adjust the volume with the
faders, the recorded sound level is not changed. Use the TRIM knobs
to adjust recording levels (See “Making the first recording” on page 26
for details).

When I press one channel SELECT key, the
adjacent key also lights.
If channels are linked, pressing a channel SELECT key will cause the
adjacent linked channel key to light also. Press both SELECT keys at
the same time to remove the link. You can link two inputs in the same
way (see “Linking channels” on page 33 for more details).

When I turned the power ON the data I record-
ed yesterday was gone.
If you turn the power OFF without following shutdown procedures,
recorded data is lost. Please follow the shutdown procedures before
turning the power OFF. If you press and hold the SHUT DOWN
key at the upper right of the top panel, the “SHUT DOWN” pop-up
opens. Press the YES/ENTER key to execute the shutdown. When
“---COMPLETE--- Please POWER OFF” appears, turn the power OFF.

Is it possible to export multiple tracks to WAV
files at the same time?
Yes. Open the WAVE IN/OUT screen and choose USB EXPORT. Align
the cursor with a track that you want to export as a WAV file and press
the INSERT key to add a check mark to the right of the list. You can
also remove a check mark by pressing the DELETE key. Add check
marks to all the tracks that you want to export before executing the
export (see “USB export (virtual tracks)” on page 84 for details).

Is it possible to COPY or ERASE multiple songs
at the same time?
Yes. Open the SONG screen and select COPY or ERASE. Select a
song and press the INSERT key to add a check mark to the right of
the list. You can also remove a check mark by pressing the DELETE
key. All the songs with check marks will be subject to the COPY or
ERASE operation.

Is it possible to record using punch in and out
with mixdown?
No.
The mixdown is an important process in the creation of a master
track, so recording is always conducted from the start of a song. We
suggest that you use the track bounce function before mixdown to
record a temporary stereo master and then use punch recording on
this (see “Bouncing tracks” on page 58 for details).

I sometimes hear a loud noise when the unit is
reading data from a CD. Is the unit broken?
No, it is not broken.
In order to reduce the amount of time that it takes to read data from a
CD, the 2488neo reads CDs at up to 52X speed. You are hearing the
sound of the CD revolving at high speed.
