Setting the brightness of the
backlight (DIMMER)
You can set the brightness of the backlight.
1 Press the MENU key to open the
MENU
screen.
2 Use the wheel to select
SETUP
, and press the
ENTER/MARK key
3 Use the
DIMMER
item to set the value.
Values: OFF, LOW, HIGH (default)
Restoring default settings
(INITIALIZE)
You can restore the various settings of this device
to their factory defaults.
1 Press the MENU key to open the
MENU
screen.
2 Use the wheel to select
SETUP
, and press the
ENTER/MARK key
3 Press the ≤ key at the
INITIALIZE
item, and
then press the ENTER/MARK key to open a confir-
mation screen.
4 Press the ENTER/MARK key again to initialize the
unit or press the STOP key to cancel.
Formatting the SD card
There are two ways to format the SD card in this
unit: Quick Format and Full Format.
Formatting an SD card erases all audio les on
the card and automatically creates new “MUSIC”
and “UTILITY” folders as well as the “dr-1.sys”
le.
1 Press the MENU key to open the
MENU
screen.
2 Use the wheel to select
SETUP
, and press the
ENTER/MARK key
3 Press the ≤ key at the
QUICK FORMAT
or
FULL
FORMAT
item, and then press the ENTER/MARK key
to open a confirmation screen.

4 Press the ENTER/MARK key to initialize the unit
or press the STOP key to cancel.
NOTE
Use a PS-P520 AC adapter (sold separately) or be
certain that the unit has plenty of remaining battery
power when formatting. Full Format checks for
memory errors, so it takes a particularly long time
compared to Quick Format.
Setting the main battery source
(MAIN)
When both the lithium ion battery and AA
batteries are installed, you can set one as a main
power source and the other as a backup. Usually
the unit uses the main power source.
When the remaining power of the main battery
source becomes low, the unit automatically
switches to the backup, allowing continued
operation.
The battery source currently used and the amount
of remaining power it has are shown at the upper
right of the Home Screen.

item to set the main battery power
source.
