Using Absolute & Relative Zero
The zero point can be the absolute zero position of a project, or a specified point relative
to it. In Absolute mode (ABS), 00:00:00.00 is typically the top of the project. In Relative
mode (REL), you can set the zero point to any position within the project. Before being
set, the relative zero position is the same as the absolute zero position.
1 To set the Relative zero position, while holding the [SET] button, press the
[RTN TO ZERO] button.
The relative zero position is set at the point at where the [SET] button and [RTN TO
ZERO] buttons are pressed.
In the following example, the relative zero position has been set at the absolute position
of 00:02:00.00.
2 To select Relative counter mode, press the [ABS/REL] button.
The ABS indicator goes out and the REL indicator lights up.
3 To select Absolute counter mode, press the [ABS/REL] button again.
The REL indicator goes out and the ABS indicator lights up.
4 To locate the zero position in either Absolute or Relative mode, press the [RTN
TO ZERO] button.
If the current project doesn’t have a zero position, the Return to Zero function locates
the top of the project.
