Convenient sample-editing
functions
If you want to save the edits that you made to sample, you must Write it before
you switch to another sample or turn off the power. (p.32 “Saving a sample”)
Normalize
This operation boosts the level of the sample as much as possible without caus-
ing distortion.
1. Use the dial to select the sample you want to normalize.
2. Hold down the SHIFT key and press step key 11 (NORMALIZE).
(Key 11 will blink.)
3. Press step key 11 once again to execute the Normalize operation.
(Key 11 will go dark.)
If you decide to cancel without executing, press the STOP/CAN-
CEL key.
Maximum level
Truncate
This operation deletes the regions of the sample before the START point and af-
ter the END point settings.
1. Use the dial to select the sample you want to truncate.
2. Hold down the SHIFT key and press step key 12 (TRUNCATE). (Key
12 will blink.)
3. Specify the START and END points.
4. Press step key 12 once again to execute the Truncate operation. (Key
12 will go dark.)
If you decide to cancel without executing, press the STOP/CAN-
CEL key.
After Truncate is executed, the START value will be 0 and the END
value will be the length of the sample.
If you execute Truncate on a slice sample, the slice settings will be
discarded and the sample will become a one-shot sample.
