[DISTORTION] control
In addition, when the [INPUT A SELECT] switch
is set to "GUITAR", you can also apply distortion
to the guitar sound by raising the [DISTORTION]
control to the appropriate position.
Using the reverb or delay
The MR-8 incorporates the original reverb/de-
lay effects featuring the newly-developed algo-
rithm. You can apply the reverb or delay to play-
back signals of tracks 1 through 4 during
mixdown and track bounce.
Selecting an effect type
You can select an effect type from among three
reverb options (ROOM, HALL and PLATE) and a
delay (DELAY) by using the [EFFECT] keys shown
below. The selected key is lit.
Details of each effect type
Simulates the reverb in a medium-sized room.
Simulates the reverb in a typical hall with moderate
early reflection.
Simulates a plate reverb with a wide frequency
range.
You can select from among three delay types; Mono,
L-R and Diff (Diffusion) using a menu screen. See
below for details.
Selecting a delay type
When pressing the [DELAY] key to select the de-
lay effect, you can select a delay type.
1) While the recorder is stopped, press the [MENU]
key to enter the menu mode.
The MENU screen is shown in which "System" is
highlighted.
2) While "System" is highlighted, press the [ENTER]
key.
The display now shows the system menu screen.
3) Use the [CURSOR ] key to highlight "Delay Type"
and then press the [ENTER] key.
The current delay type starts flashing and now you
can select a desired type from among three options
shown below ("L-R" is initially selected).
L-R delay (default)
Mono delay
Diffusion delay
4) Use the [CURSOR / ] keys to select a desired
delay type and then press the [ENTER] key.
The selected delay type is set, while the "Delay Type"
is highlighted on the screen.
5) Press the [MENU] key to quit the menu mode.
