11.Adjust:
• throttle cable free play
Refer to “ADJUSTING THE THROTTLE
CABLE FREE PLAY”.
Throttle cable free play (at the
flange of the throttle grip)
3 ~ 5 mm
12.Remove:
• engine tachometer
• vacuum gauge
13.Remove:
• fuel tank
14.Install:
• T-bar
15.Install:
• fuel tank
•rider seat

CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE
EXHAUST GAS AT IDLE
(Measuring the exhaust gas at idle [when the
air induction system does not operate])
1. Stand the motorcycle on a level surface.
NOTE:
• Place the motorcycle on a suitable stand.
• Make sure the motorcycle is upright.
2. Remove:
•rider seat
• fuel tank
• T-bar
Refer to “SEATS AND FUEL TANK”.
• side cowlings
Refer to “COWLINGS AND COVERS”.
• exhaust pipe bolts 1
Note: On North American models the ECU jumper must be relocated prior to performing the
