recording/playback. For example, you can record guitar
solos onto multiple V-takes, and then compare them later to
select the best take.
HINT
By changing the internal settings of the MRS-1266, you can
directly record the signal from INPUT jacks 1 - 6 on tracks 1
- 6. (This is called "6TR REC mode".)
The recorder section also provides a set of stereo tracks
which are separate from the normal record/play tracks 1 - 10.
These are called the master tracks. The master tracks are
dedicated for mixdown and for storing the material used to
create an audio CD.
Rhythm section
The rhythm section of the MRS-1266 offers 511
accompaniment patterns (called "rhythm patterns") that use
the internal drum/bass sound generator. Over 400 patterns are
preprogrammed at the factory. Rhythm patterns can be played
independently or in synchronization with the recorder.
HINT
You can also create original patterns by using either the pads
on the top panel or through the use of MIDI.
You can arrange rhythm patterns in the desired order of
playback, and program chords and tempo to create the rhythm
accompaniment for an entire song. (This is called a "rhythm
song.") Up to 10 rhythm songs can be created, among which
one is selected for playback.
HINT
If desired, rhythm patterns and rhythm songs can be pro-
cessed with the insert effect, and bounced on the audio
tracks.
Mixer section
The signals from tracks 1 - 8, 9/10, and the drum and bass
sounds are sent to separate mixer channels for individual
adjustment of volume and tone and to create a stereo mix.
For each track, the following parameters can be controlled
independently.
•Volume
Panning
•2-band EQ
Send level to the send/return effect
Mute on/off
•V-take switching
HINT
If required, the STEREO SUB OUT jacks on the front panel
can be set to carry a specific track or drum/bass sound. This
is convenient for monitoring the track or drum/bass sound,
or for adjusting it with an external effect device.
