Line up phrases
Use the “+” symbol to line up phrases. For example, entering
0 + 1 + 2
will result in the following play sequence.
Repeat phrases
Use the “x” symbol to specify phrase repetitions. “x” takes
precedence over “+”. For example, entering
0 + 1 x 2 + 2
will
result in the following play sequence.
Link phrases
Use the “(“ and “)” symbols to link a group of phrases for
repetition, and use the “x” symbol to specify the repetition
count. For example, entering
(1 + 2) x 2 + 3
will result in the
following play sequence.
An example for creating the phrase loop
“0 + (1 + 2) x 8 + 3
is shown below.
HINT
If the equation for the phrase loop does not fit on two lines,
the characters scroll one by one. If you use the cursor left/
right keys to move the input position, the line scrolls on both
sides accordingly.
After entering an equation, it can be edited as follows.
Inserting numbers or symbols
Use the cursor left/right keys to move the cursor (flashing
segment) to the desired insert position. And press the desired
pad.
Deleting numbers or symbols
Use the cursor left/right keys to move the cursor (flashing
segment) to the desired position and press the [DELETE/
ERASE] key.
When equation input is complete, specify a track/V-take on
which to store the phrase loop as audio data.
NOTE
The equation for a phrase loop is stored as part of a project
also after writing the result to a track/V-take. Therefore you
