REGION Selects which portion of the selected tracks will be recorded to the CD-
R/CD-RW. The options are IN/OUT or ALL.
WRITE SPEED Specify the writing speed here. You may select SLOW or FAST. SLOW
writes at normal (real-time) speed. FAST, however, does not necessar-
ily write at the CD-RW/CD-R's fastest speed but at the highest mutu-
ally compatible speed. This is likely to be slower than the CD's fastest
possible speed (e.g. if you have a 24x speed writer, the FAST setting
might only write at 4x speed).
TEST WRITE This allows you to select whether or not to perform test writing.
Test write is a process in which a weak laser is projected onto the disc
surface to check whether any malfunctions will occur during data trans-
fer. If you have not written data to discs at all or have only done so a
few times, perform the test write process.
BURN METHOD This allows you to select TRACK-AT-ONCE or DISK-AT-ONCE.
With 'track-at-once', you can write individual 'tracks' one-by-one.
You can keep adding 'track's to the CD until you finalize it with the
FINISH function.
With 'disk-at-once', you can write an entire CD and finish it in one pass.
The soft key functions are:
MIXDOWN [F1] Takes you to a page where you can create a stereo mixdown suitable for
writing to CD-R.
NOTE:
It is not possible to mixdown a multitrack project directly to CD-RW/CD-R. To do this, you
should first use the MIXDOWN function to create a stereo mixdown and then burn that stereo mix to CD.
This process is described on the following pages.
DRIVE [F2] Allows you to select the CD-R drive (Internal or External)
PLAYER [F3] Takes you to the CD PLAYER page.
ERASE [F4] Allows you to erase a CD-RW media for re-use. Pressing this pops up an
"ARE YOU SURE?" prompt to which you should respond accordingly.
Of course, you cannot erase a CD-R media.
WRITE [F5] Initiates the Track-at-once writing process.
If Disk-at-once is selected, F5/F6 keys are replaced by "WRITE CD".
Pressing this pops up an "ARE YOU SURE?" prompt..
FINISH [F6] This option is only available when using the 'track-at-once' method.
The Finish process is a process of writing readout information to a disc.
This allows you to complete a CD-R/CD-RW so that it can be played on
a compatible audio CD player. Once a disc is 'Finished', it is not pos-
sible to add more 'tracks' to it.
Pressing this key puts up an "ARE YOU SURE?" prompt.
NOTE:
It is not possible write to CDR a project with a sample rate other than 44.1kHz. Therefore, if the
current project is at a different sample rate, F5/F6 keys are replaced by "CONVERT TO 44.1kHz". This
process is described on the following pages.
